Dermapen™ is a type of treatment that uses small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin. For tanned to darker skin types it is recommended to use a melanin inhibitor for two weeks prior to the treatment to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Comfort:
Joanna will aim to make the treatment as comfortable as possible and you should make them aware straight away if the treatment is too uncomfortable. There is the option of anaesthetic/numbing cream which should be decided on before the appointment. Please inform us if you have ever experienced a reaction or allergy to any anaesthetic/numbing cream prior to appointment.
Health and Safety
We only use sterile disposable consumables throughout the treatment ensuring complete health and safety.
Treatment duration
Please allow 45 – 90 minutes for your Dermapen clinical treatment including preperation, numbing and post care.
Post-Treatment information
During the skin healing process, minor itching, hives, flaking, or redness may appear. If symptoms persist, please call us. Do not pick, squeeze or agitate skin during the recovery period.
Please avoid the following activities for up to 2 days following a Dermapen™ clinical procedure:-
- Direct Ultra Violet (sun or solariums)
- Intensive cardio or exercise
- Excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or saunas
